The Buzz is Back in Charlotte: Charlotte Bobcats officially become the Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets are officially back in the NBA.

After twelve years, the Hornets are back in Charlotte. On May 20, 2014, the Charlotte Bobcats officially re-branded to become once again the Charlotte Hornets.

“Today is truly an historic day for our franchise, our city and our fans as we mark the official return of the Charlotte Hornets. Thanks to our fans who were the driving force behind the Hornets name returning.  We are thrilled to be able to bring the Hornets name back to the Carolinas.”  – Michael Jordan

Now that the re-brand is official, everyone is now awaiting the unveiling of the new uniforms.

We won’t know for a few more weeks if they will go with a traditional or modern uniform look, but one thing we do know for sure is that the teal and purple is back in the NBA.

The team has released dates for the uniform unveiling as well as other re-branding activities on their website.

Some of the most anticipated activities will be…

June 5 – Hugo the Hornet returns to Charlotte

June 19 – Uniform Unveiling

June 26 – New Court Design Unveiling
