Under Armour and USA Speedskating Team Sign Eight-Year Extension

In some of the more surprising news of the day, Under Armour signed an eight-year extension with the USA Speedskating team today.

Under Armour was under fire during these Sochi Olympics for the suits they made for the athletes.  Shani Davis (pictured) blamed the suit on his poor performances during these Sochi Olympics.  The team went back to the old Under Armour suits that they had wore in 2013 leading up to the Olympics.

This is a big recovery for Under Armour who has become a household name in the world of team outfitters.  The Sochi games were turning into a black eye for the company, but the fact that they were willing to change on the fly and make a commitment to improving is big for them.

Under Armour, a company that was started by a former University of Maryland fullback has now turned into a multi-billion dollar company.

Under Armour sponsors 46 professional athletes and is the main outfitter for 31 professional and college teams.
