The Broncos of the Mid-American Conference may have found the slipper helmet that will give them the BCS-Cinderella magic the Broncos from the Mountain West have had in recent history.
Western Michigan announced in a release earlier this week its football team will wear the above-pictured football helmets in 2013. The design of the helmet looks eerily similar to the design of the Boise State helmet introduced in its season opener a few seasons ago.
As Jerry Hinnen of CBSSports.com pointed out, WMU is outfitted by adidas and the resemblance of its new helmets to the ones Boise State wore makes this rip off look even worse, because Nike designed BSU’s helmet.
What makes the helmet even more laughable is the fact the WMU athletic department used the No. 11 as its example to show media members its new offering. The most prolific BSU player to ever wear that helmet design was former Bronco quarterback Kellen Moore, who wore the same number.
