Michigan State basketball will play Connecticut at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany to kick off its 2012-13 season. However, it is now being reported that the Spartans will wear camouflage uniforms.
There may not be any better visual way to support US troops than to style a basketball uniform in military garb.
“The uniform features the same lettering, numbers and the “B1G” logo, but is completely colored in camouflage and the United States flag below the left shoulder,” the Detroit Free Press wrote this weekend. “The shoes also had a makeover, with camouflage laces.”
This uniform is a drastic update to the Spartans’ classic Green and White look that the team usually employs during the regular season.
Michigan State and Connecticut will tip off at 5:30 p.m. ET on Nov. 9.
